High voltage insulation powder coating is a specialized functional powder coating that ensures insulation protection, voltage resistance, and breakdown prevention of high-voltage electrical equipment. The product is highly sensitive to temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and storage environment. In order to prevent problems such as powder moisture agglomeration, premature gelation, performance degradation, and impurity pollution, and to ensure stable high-voltage insulation strength, electrical performance, and coating quality after coating curing, and to avoid safety hazards such as pinholes, leakage, and inadequate voltage resistance after spraying, this storage condition requirement is formulated to standardize the storage and preservation process. All storage, preservation, and requisition processes must be strictly followed.
1、 Requirements for temperature and humidity environment
High voltage insulation powder coating needs to be stored in a dedicated temperature controlled and dry warehouse, with strict control over environmental temperature and humidity. The storage temperature should be between 15 ℃ and 25 ℃, and the ambient temperature should not exceed 30 ℃. Long term high temperature can cause slow pre curing and gelation of the powder, reduce its flowability and insulation performance, and directly affect the high-voltage protection effect. The relative humidity of the warehouse should be controlled between 40% and 60%, and it is strictly prohibited for the humidity to exceed 60%. A humid environment can cause the powder to quickly absorb moisture and clump, resulting in coating defects and a decrease in insulation breakdown voltage after coating. The warehouse should be kept ventilated and dry, and outdoor stacking is prohibited. It should not be placed in the basement, areas with heavy water vapor, or near condensed water pipes.
2、 Requirements for protection against light and heat sources
High voltage insulation powder coating should be stored in the dark throughout the entire process, and direct sunlight and ultraviolet radiation are strictly prohibited to prevent the resin system from aging and deteriorating, which may damage the core insulation performance of the product. The storage area must be kept away from various heat sources, open flames, and high-temperature equipment, including spray drying ducts, steam pipelines, heating systems, electric furnaces, welding machines, etc. On the one hand, it can prevent powder deterioration and failure caused by high temperatures, and on the other hand, it can prevent powder dust accumulation from causing combustion and explosion safety accidents, ensuring the safety of warehouse storage.
3、 Requirements for stacking and packaging management
The product needs to retain its original factory sealed packaging, with the built-in PE sealed bag tightly sealed and the outer packaging box/paper drum intact, completely isolating external moisture and impurities throughout the process. When storing, use pallets to elevate and stack uniformly, with a distance of not less than 10cm from the ground and wall, effectively isolating moisture on the ground; The stacking height is reasonable, and heavy objects are strictly prohibited from being pressed or stepped on to prevent packaging damage and moisture contamination of the powder. Strictly follow the relevant principles, the opened high-voltage insulation powder coating must be used up within 7 days, and the remaining powder must be immediately resealed and sealed. It is strictly prohibited to leave it open for a long time.
5、 Partition isolation storage requirements
High voltage insulation powder coating needs to be stored in an independent and dedicated storage area, classified separately, and mixed storage is strictly prohibited. It is not allowed to store organic solvents, diluents, acidic and alkaline corrosive materials, water-based coatings, ordinary decorative powders and other products in the same area to avoid cross contamination of materials, dust mixing, eliminate quality problems such as coating insulation performance failure and voltage resistance failure caused by impurities, and ensure the stability of product electrical performance.
6、 Shelf life and re inspection management requirements
Under standard sealed, dry, and constant temperature storage conditions, the conventional shelf life of high-voltage insulation powder coating is 6 months, and the shelf life of some specialized formula products is based on the manufacturer's factory certificate. Products that have exceeded their shelf life are strictly prohibited from being directly used for spraying on high-voltage workpieces. Core indicators such as gelation time, powder flowability, breakdown voltage, and insulation strength must be tested and retested in advance before they can be used. Any powder that becomes damp, clumped, or spoiled shall be scrapped and strictly prohibited from being used for coating operations on high-voltage insulation equipment.
7、 Special requirements for low-temperature storage
If the ambient temperature in the warehouse is low, before using high-voltage insulation powder coating, the sealed powder should be allowed to cool back to room temperature before unpacking and using. It is prohibited to directly open low-temperature powders to avoid condensation caused by cold air exposure to heat, which can cause the powder to absorb water and become damp, and damage the insulation performance.
